Smog, Fog, Freezing Wind, A Truck Pileup, And The End Of The Road

Well, this is it. The last post of the trip! Officially we've been off the road for a week now. It's been a very busy week, moving into an apartment, applying for the Guinness record, and catching up with friends who we hadn't seen in nearly half a year. The last few days into Beijing were by no means easy though. We hit some of the coldest weather since Tibet, strongest winds since Urumqi, and boatloads of trucks.

Cheers To Reunions! Not So Much To The Smog

Heading back north now through central/eastern China before heading over to the coast. Pollution in eastern China during the winter can be especially harsh, giving us the wrong kind of fuzzy feeling inside when thinking about heading back to Beijing. A nice reunion with a motorcycle club in Shandong helps to take our mind off of it though!

Welcome to Western Sichuan- Days 82-84

Head crouched down, visor so covered in dust that it was impossible to see through anymore, shoulders sore from days of keeping the bike upright through potholes, over cliff side landslides, and around trucks determined not to deviate from their path. This was more or less the scene a couple of days into our western Sichuan excursion.
